My taste in art changed has changed as I've grown older. When I was a teenager, I loved Renoir and Van Gogh. Then I went to the Hermitage in St.Petersburg and saw The Dance by Matisse...I will never forget it. This opened a new chapter. This led to Pollack who I still love.
I've ended up loving the banal now, I like the quiet scenes given to us by Pieter de Hooch and Jan Vermeer, Dutch artists of the 16th century. These are such ordinary paintings, of ordinary things but really.....really captivating.
They say you can create a soundtrack to your life but I think the same can be said with paintings.

I like Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Michelangelo to name a very few. Georgia O' Keefe's works move me as well.

Dali (check out the Persistance of Memory) or Munch (The Scream). It's tough since you didn't really specify a time period. I really prefer some of the rawness of the avant gard movement to the impressionism of Monet.
