Pushups wont get you biceps nearly as fast as barbells. You should get barbells, they aren't expensive at all. Get those hexagon ones you can find almost anywhere.

I do pushups to prevent osteoporosis and I'm getting some biceps showing and I'm a 50 year old female.

I'm with Einstein on this one. Buy some dumbells, a barbell, and some weights. They are cheap as hell at Walmart and other places. And you don't have to buy them all at once. Start off buying a couple of dumbells, and then every couple of weeks, buy something else. Some isometric exercises will build muscle. But to really get results, you need progressive resistance (ie, adding more weight as you get stronger).

Push-Up will not build biceps, but will give you increased arm strength mostly the triceps. Pull-ups will work the biceps.

my boyfriend fills 2 buckets with water or bricks and uses them as his barbells by putting a broomstick through them.and hes got huge biceps now.and if you just hold thom by the handles and left them in curls it works quickly.

pushups works your triceps...chin-ups will work your biceps. if you really wanna build up youor body...sign up with a gym! good luck!
