At London Gatwick they take off and land every 30 seconds for approx 18 a day every day, the answer you require will probably be over a million if you count the small aerodromes as well perhaps ten times that amount.

Hopefully all of them!
Any planes that take off will land as well eventually (one way or another) but I was told around 3000 an hour so 24 hours is 72,000

Check Colin Moynihan's "Airport". Contains all sorts of other surprising facts too, about air travel, planes and airports. Eg: what happens to the unused liqueurs after the flight? How do pilots know it's OK to land in fog? How do they shoo birds off runways? Etc.

Don't know but HR a plane takes off every 4 minutes during the day so I guess its a lot.

its almost in the hundred thousands i think, but it all depends on the day of the week, time of the month, and what season it is. Also there are more things that influence this weather, mechanical issues.
So, in short there is no constant number everyday, you can only get a rough estimate.

according to us department of transportation, it is nearly 55000 a year in US alone, and US take about 40 percent of total world plane transportation in 2005
