What is the point? I have no friends, and I was disowned a couple of years ago by my family, so no one cares... So why should I?

Just think about it like this. No matter how bad you think things are, they aren't as bad as some other people out there.

Pick yourself up and stop sulking. Find new friends...better yet begin to love yourself, cause no one else will until you do. When you do begin to realize that there is so much more to life than worrying about things you can't change, you'll find that you can live up to anything you can imagine.

Get yourself in contact with a counselor, priest, or even a teacher and try to sort out your feelings so that you can move on.

l know how you feel, such is life, it can stink. I have been lonely all my life. I am an only child but because of that I became a pro on being w/people and finding fun. You need to be The Man who rules!!! This is what you do, you go do something you like. For example work part time in a fun place not for the money but to meet people you like and get friends. Look your best every day and fulfill your hobbies and dreams. For example travel, go scuba diving, buy new cloths, take some college courses. Pets can be your best friends. You can always start your own family someday too and have a nice spouse and have some kids. When you marry his family becomes yours plus your own children will then give you two families. Also in the mean time exercise and take some St. Johns Wort pills they are in the herbal section, grocery stores have it.

I'll be straight with you. Life sucks sometimes. For some of us, it sucks a LOT of the time. But when you feel like you are down, depressed, and have nothing left, that's when you have to remember that you aren't in this alone. Nobody in this world is truly alone- there are people out there willing and ready to help. You've made an important first step by talking to us about it on the boards here, and it won't be long until you can glean purpose from it.

I don't profess to have all the answers, and I don't claim to know how to deal with your problems specifically. But as a person who has been through some extremely rough times myself, I can say that I have felt a lot like what you are feeling right now- like you have no friends, and you are an outcast from your own home- I have felt that. And still I go on because I don't know what tomorrow brings. It may be horrible, or it may be wonderful, but I will never find out unless I get there. So every day, I find myself saying "One more day". And over time, things have gotten better. I have a new 'home', and new friends. But I would have never had anything if I had just given up, given in, and given out.

So please, know that others have been where you are and we are here for your support any time you need us. You are never alone, because in our suffering we are family. We'll stick together and see it through.

Ignore everyone here who has told you to just go and make some friends, think positively and essentially to just "get over it" because I know that life is not that easy by far. Saying that happy sunshine thoughts alone will make life better is a load of croc and anyone who believes that has never been depressed and has lived a blissful life of sheltered denial.

The only thing I can suggest is taking to a doctor or counsilor about how you feel and hopefully they will be able to help or direct you to somewhere else that can. There are also many websites and online forums on depression that can be found by using most search engines.

If it is any consolation to you, many people feel the same way (myself included) and I know how hard it is to express such thoughts and feelings when there are no friends and family for support. You are not alone, even when it hurts.

There is point in life you make life what it is- show your family if they disowned you that you don't need them and you can enjoy life and think they don't deserve you for doing that!
Go out find a comfortable job, talk to people make friends, take up a hobbie ect, try new things! Life will get better we all have bad days and look back at upsetting times in our lives- we all just have to move on and concentrate on now. The past is gone, over, nothing!
Good luck and take care of yourself.

No one can answer this important question except for yourself. I'm sorry, but so what if you were disowned? In existentialist philosophy, the only opinion... the only voice that matters is yours and yours alone. Nothing matters except for you ability to choose your own value in life. Therefore, you can decide that your life means something and you should just so you can experience it. After all... if you don't believe in religion, then this carbon-based existence is all you have. Some what... maybe 70-80 some odd years here to experience this before you return to carbon matter from whence you came. Nobody can tell you to care about living, but you should simply because you can embrace your own life and enjoy the time you have here. Screw what other people think... the only opinion that matters is yours.

Hellifino! I just keep doing cool stuff, get an adrenalin rush, and go with the flow. And what's the point of dying. It might piss off your family if you stay alive. I can't believe you did something so bad they disowned you. They are dysfunctional, judgemental A-holes so don't personalize. Sex is pretty damn satisfying too. With or without someone else.

We are all alone but I love everyone and want them to be happy. That includes you. You can be a good human being and thats pretty much it.

If you don't care about living, maybe you are clinically depressed and need to see a doctor. You don't say why your parents disowned you. It sounds like you need some counseling to work on making some changes so that people will want you for a friend.

When we are born, the only thing humans know how to do is to suck if something is placed in their mouth. Everything else, we have to learn how to do. All of our life is spent trying to learn how to do the things that bring us success and happiness. Part of that is unlearning the things we thought would work but don't.

You can have friends and the respect of others if you want to but but you have to take the initiative. Even if that is only finding out where you can get some counseling that you can afford.

I am physically disabled, in constant pain, and alone most of the time. I take anti-depressants but because of the constant pain and being unable to do most things, I still have some symptoms of Depression. God is a big help to me. If you are an atheist, you probably will feel angry that I said that, but why the anger? If you believe in God, maybe you haven't given Him A fair chance? We have to do our part in our relationship with Him too.

I hope something I said has helped. Being depressed is no fun.

Well you must care, as you wouldn't be asking. Don't dwell on the past, move on for your own sake. You can make new friends in the most unlikely of places. If you aren't working, ask your health visitor if there are any groups you can join, or try a night class- some are free. You also meet great people at swimming pools, gyms and libraries. See your GP if you are depressed- I have been on Prozac for 2 years and it makes me feel really good. You are worth it. Good luck and big hugs x

Just think of today as a new start ...People do care !

My humble advice is learn from the mistakes you have made in the past, forgive others that have hurt you - no matter how wronged you feel, do not live in the past, as today and the future are what really matters.
Inside you is strong enough to change your current circumstances and your beliefs on how low you feel, it just depends whether you really want to !!! Start by joining a social group that interests you, or make friends with someone on line, try dating on line. Get a pet, Be creative !! You generally get out what you put in !
Also speak to your doctor, and get your general health checked out.
So why should you care ? ..... one day you will know why !!

Take the bull by the horns and get out of your comfort zone, join a club or go to your Local library and look at the bulliten board, get out and do something really different, you are the only one that can make the changes happen. Its to easy to sit back and whinge, I know been there and done that. Life might not be what you want it to be but the alternative would be bloody boring.
