It sounds delightful. Maybe the only litter of its kind..
Years ago, I had a litter..Afghan/Doberman mix.
They were great puppies..and all went to wonderful homes..But, since the parents were of excellent breeding (Son and Daughter of the Nation's top sires in each breed) Just for fun, I decided to send them home with a pedigree..Every dog on their pedigree was a champion! They were just champions of two different breeds!
Well, one 'blond' called me a few days later, to ask which breed they should register them as....I don't think that I could ever convey to her that they were mutts! lol
I followed up on those pups, and they were in happy and proud homes years later...One even called to ask if it had happened again, as he had friends wanting one! Lovely dogs..Looked like a greyhound with a Doberman head..All slick, no long haired ones..
I learned just how many 7 foot fences an amorous Afghan could clear if a female was in 'season'...so, kept a much closer watch in the future..

"Pedigree scottie crossed with a whippet"...You have a mutt. A pedigree is only applicable to a purebred. With a mutt you have no way of knowing how that dog will ultimately turn out---it could mature into more of a Scottie in personality/look or more of a Whippet.
And frankly, when that dog matures, be prepared for frustration. Whippets are sighthounds that chase things instinctively and are pack-oriented---Scotties are VERY stubborn, tenacious, and difficult to train (they are terriers, after all).
I've seen a similar mutt (Westie x Italian Greyhound) come through the shelter I volunteer at...You have a high prey drive dog who probably won't listen to you. Congrats. =D

Actually the sighthounds & terriers have been crossed delebrately for centries to produce the poachers dog often call a lurcher. Border collie is sometimes also added to the cross to increase trainability. A Scottie/whippet cross is probably not common though (they usually go for a tad larger dogs).

Both names are excellent - I like skippet because it sounds like a kind of sweet and whottie because people probably say "what...????!!" when they see it. All mongrels tend to be of a sweeter nature than pedigree dogs - mixing up the genes is a healthier option. Enjoy your pet

personally I like Skippett...sounds very cute! and honestly you already said this want intentional & its not like your looking to breed more of them so dont listen to these self righteous azz's on here who want to preach about how you have a mutt & you dont know what your gonna get etc etc etc...you already know what you have you just wanted to know if there was anyone whos shared the same experience...sheesh, why does everyone have to read some deep seeded wrong doing into every question people on here ask??? congrats on your sweetie of a dog & may her & you both live long & happy lives in the comfort & joy of each other!

Neither one...it's a MUTT/MONGREL! Sticking a silly "name" on it doesn't change that.
Nor,as "imagined" above,is it a lurcher!
And..unless you WITNESSED the DIASTER,I doubt the cross.
