That gift is simply a token of appreciation, of love, and of your commitment to the relationship.
yes -
it's important to give...100% of yourself - which includes gifts.
You aren't buying the relationship;
you are celebrating it with a gift.

not at all. If she loves you she will stay with you no matter what.
but you shouldn't test her.
However... by giving gifts, it shows that you have thought of her and her happiness is more important to you than the money.
My boyfriend gets me a little gift for my birthday and then spends about £150 at christmas. We've been together 3 years and he's bought me one bunch of flowers. I buy him gifts alot, but thats because it makes ME happy too.
It really isn't all that important... as long as you can have a perfect reltionship without gifts.
Just remember that every girl does in fact want to treated like a princess. I'd say the best thing would be not to buy gifts too often but when you do.... splash out!

I guess it isn't the most important part of the relationship but giving her gifts is really sweet and will make her happy. It is just like giving her a part of u she can bring with her always and look at it when she thinks of u...and it'll remind her of u... If u think it's not necessary then don't buy such an expensive gift, a reasonably priced one will do. It's not about how expensive the gift is...it's about how sincere u are.

Girls like to read into things, so the gift you give must be of importance beyond a simple of willingness to provide to their security. Which the real reason why men give women jewelry, in the olds a woman that lost her husband would slowly sell off her jewels to provide for her self. But now in a world of equal employment opprotunity, relatively speaking, gold shiny things are not as appreciated without the feelings behind the gift. At worst she takes the gift without ever really showing you how much she appreciates it or not.

No its not, its more important that your GF knows you don't take her for granted and appreciate her. little things are more important than gifts. make her something once in a while, like a card or a cake even, these things cost you hardly anything, she will appreciate the time and thought that went into it. buying her expensive gifts is not the way to go.

You shouldn't give gifts just because you think you should (except on birthday, xmas, anniversary, etc) but the rest of the time it should be a natural, "just saw this and thought of you" I mean not using that as a corny line, but for real.
Or flowers for no apparent reason is good.
(else if you start in years to come, she may think gifts are covering up for some misdeed)!

Gifts are nice to get, shows you are loved, cared for, and thought about. The saying always applies, better to give than receive. Works both ways on gift giving.

While it is not the giving that is the most important thing for women, it is the fact that you're thinking of them.
Also keep in mind that if you're serious about building a relationship, it is the exchange that counts: exchange of thoughts, exchange of feelings, exchange of things.
We guys tend to feel that women are needy, are looking to "get things", but I think it is more the giving and receiving that is important.
What is also important to keep in mind that because men and women place different values on things, they often misunderstand each other when they're giving, and the gift is not received or appreciated appropriately.
Give her a special gift for her special day, because she is special to you and keep giving her attention.

If you love her you better remember her birthday and get her a gift. By getting her jewelry you say that she worth it to you to have her in your life. I can understand that money is a problem for a lot of people these days but if you have it then spend something on her now and then. If you are low on cash a simple inexpensive present will do. If she loves you she will understand. Who said you have to test her? If you love her then you should trust she loves you too. And who knows maybe she will buy you a present too for you birthday if you are good enough.

gifts are really not that important but it is better if you can buy your girl a gift on her birthday, does not need to be expensive like gold or diamonds.. its the thought that counts. your time is the best gift you can give..its better than any gifts.
