I'm afraid that some people are just using YA as a stupid "points game", which is why they will answer a question even when they have nothing useful to day. Some people also use the anonymity of the web to be completely rude in a way they would never dare face-to-face with someone.
However, there are still plenty of helpful, nice people here. Look for the daffordills and ignore the thistles!

A few reasons:
They think they might get points for being funny (if the best answer goes to a vote), even at the expense of being mean.
They may be in a bad mood and want to take it out on someone.
They may be afraid to be nice. Some people equate being nice with being weak.
Don't worry about the nasty people; they're always going to be around. Nice people just have to rise above them.

Because they can hide behind a monitor while trying to gain points and upset people with rude comments, like the ones you may get.
You can't block you can only REPORT Harassment, Adult,
content, Point-Gaming, other. I would also tell yahoo that that answer is sickening and should not be on any of their boards. you can only shrug it off. I know it is hard with all the improper answers you might get. I hope this helps. What is wrong is there is no

Some people are here for fun, I guess. I don't know about the nastiness, but the sarcasm can sometimes make us laugh. I guess it really depends on the question being asked. If it is serious, the answers should be serious...if it is a silly or irrelevant questions, it is asking for sarcasm and nastiness.

Most ppl just can't help it. It all depends on what mood you're in. Unfortunately we can't force someone to be nice even if we asked a question in the most polite manner.
It's just something human. We'll have to deal with it and not take it too seriously! After all...this is a place where one can be informal, right?

It's easy to be nasty when you can hise behind a computer. It's the same on the job. People will be nasty or insult you knowing you have to take it or lose your job. There is a report system where you can report the nasty ones.

due to reality some of your very best answers are going to be sarcastic and nasty but don't look a gift horse in mouth . you have to learn to take the good with the bad sometimes just keep in mind if ignorance is bliss what kind of hell did some of the more well versed have to go through .... ostriches say much the same don't they......................

Okay,here's the deal,it is a stupid points game!If it weren't,there would not be points involved!I don't think you should be getting serious advise from a bunch of strangers across the world!Sometimes the questions are so stupid,they need to be made fun of. I think you should be able to deal with a little bit of sarcasm,it wont hurt you.

some use this as to give genuine answer,,, well some just to kill time...and some to gain points... however just avoid what u dont like because u have cannot do much about that because u cannot change other people ... and all useful information u get pay attention to it...
