You can use any different money transfer mechanism:
1. An independent money transfer company like Western Union which will get your money from any US bank to any Indian bank. In fact with some limitations it will also send US cash to a bank in India or as a check on someone's name. (I am guessing here, you can find out details on their website).
2. If you have an account in a bank that has a presence in India and the US, then you can transfer through that account. For example, State Bank of India, Citibank, HSBC, etc.
3. Do a bank-to-bank wire remittance. This uses SWIFT to do the remittance I believe and can go from any US bank to any Indian bank.
4. You can send US dollars in cash with someone whom you know / trust or go to India yourself :-) and have the dollars exchanged for Indian rupees and have the money deposited in your account there.
