Hopefully, I'm all for secular countries where people are free to practice their own beliefs and interpret religion personally without the state controlling how they are to follow their reigion or what religion they are to follow, or having laws created on a religious ideaology so that it discriminates against those who choose to follow another religion. I am a Muslim, but i think that the problem with many "Islamic" states today is the fact that you shouldn't mix state and religion, so many problems arise. The evidence is plentiful. Freedom and secularism is the key to a healthy society. I thank God everyday i was born in a secular society where religion is kept to the inidividual so it guarentees religous freedom for all and all ways of living.

All of the people of the world have lost faiths in there religion that is why they have gone secular but Muslims will never lose faith in Islam because it is the complete code of life unless one knows the true meaning of Islam. There are a lot of secular Muslim countries like Turkey, Lebanon, Malaysia etc but no matter how much a Muslim country becomes secular they will never lose faith and Islam.

most of them are pretty much secular and have progressed--economically and socially. its some of the countries like 3rd world and develoing countries that need much attention.
i see the light at the end of the tunnel -- i mean there are 17 schools for both girls and boys and 5 new health clinics esp for women built in Afghanistan -- so that is quite a remarkable positivity.
just that if the world should be willing to help them rather than wipe them off from the world -- as we some here say. it all depends on G1 countries to help other countries.

100 years is a long time and i believe alot can happen within that time , all it will take is a few strong men/women to challenge the limitations of their religion and law in terms of their integration with the world and boom secularization.
I think this strong people are there its just that it might be a little difficult to go against such strong current but maybe with time, we will be able to see such changes and i believe they will be welcomed by many.

Not unless their constitution changes. Or, unless the Qur'an changes. An Islamic republic like Iran integrates religion and state. It is a constitutional theocracy. In Iraq, the format was changed although it is still called an Islamic republic.

I seriously doubt it. You can't be secular if you believe that Sharia should be imposed as law.
Add: That's quite a generalization you have going there "Maria G". It's nice that you generalize like that, so then you shouldn't be offended when people assume that all Muslims are terrorists. Hey, they're just generalizing too. Those Arab Muslims sure love them some Western education though, huh?

Their is nothing like mulim country per say. It is the people (majority) of the country that want it to be. If the faith of the muslim deminishes then they may be but if the faith increase i don't think. Later is more likely
