In simple words answer is YES, well look recovery disk tht ya get with windows is something more* reliable, can play greatrole in reachieving those lost or deleted data ...plus windows file drivers(dll,etc..) while if ya using recovery CD frm ya'r desktop/laptop/palmtop manufacturer then they r Reliable aswell.

but if they r someother s/w then i must tell you they can create a problem for you bcoz they gonna affect your windw's registry, and wld acess your memory mamngement(done by operating sys) and can even lead to window crash...so if you r using this version then be careful about it.

have a nice day!

same purpose... but different outcome..

the purpose is to have a clean and new feel to your laptop.

but if you use recovery disc, most of the time whatever software pre-installed by the manufacturer would get installed again.

if you use windows xp disc, you will have a bare windows xp system. (not much program.. and minimum drivers installed).

if its ok, do it with recovery disc, to save the hassle of searching for required driver and software. most of them would be in there.

all I know is that I have a gateway laptop and I had to send it into them because the disk that came with the computer is completely useless....no drivers, and the drivers needed are impossible to find on the net
