If it has been raining for a long time and you have no litter tray in the house it could be the rain that made her do it. But often, if a cat "dirties" the house, and it's something very much out of character, then it could be that you have done something to really upset him/her.

A cat will poo anywhere other than the litter box for a few reasons. Has there been changes in your house lately? Like a new pet, new person visiting or living there, is the cat sick, or any type of change in your house? If none of the above applies, and you are really concerned and the cat keeps doing this, take him/her to the vet for a check-up!

your probably right. i wouldn't want to go out in the rain and do the thing. she's not lazy, actually she is smart...about the rain that is.

suggestion. keep a litter box handy and then you won't have a mess in the house. i have 11 cats and if i dont keep their litter box clean they will do the same thing.

be sure to clean the spot where she went with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide mixed in a spay bottle. it will remove the odor and stain.

is the litter box clean? First step clean out the litter box, maybe do a full litter change. show her where it is. if she does this again, call the vet so she can be examined to make sure nothing medically is wrong with her. if that all checks out. then you may have to lock her in a small room with her litterbox and some water and she will learn she has to use it or she will have to live in the mess she makes.

Maybe having a litter box might be a smart move aye? Cats should be inside anyhow..

Maybe you are right, maybe she is too lazy, and cats do hate the water.

Is her litterbox clean?

Does she have a litterbox?

We have 2 outdoor cats, but keep a box just incase. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Because you were too lazy or forgetful to let it out last night!

Well my Poodle popped upstairs and piddled a big puddle, so yes I think they are just lazy.
