God is pure and Heaven is pure. It would be like walking in across a white carpet covered in mud to enter his presence without purity of thoughts and actions. Totally out of place.

First of all, its God, not god. Second, God is harmony. You cannot have harmony if either your thoughts or actions are impure and do not coincide. Thought and action only coincide when they both are pure. Thus, purity=harmony=union with God. Basically, if you say/think something, then do/act something else, you are impure; those factors (thought and action) are thus uneven/disharmonious, and there is no union. From your question, I infer that you must have union (at some human level) to reach the Kingdom of God. In the End, say what you mean, and do what you say. Then, you'll be fine. Good Luck!

Quite agree.

God is not a very nice person. He threatens us for not believing in him. He has been the excuse for countless wars and bloodshed. So why indeed should we show purity of thought and action, when clearly he doesn't

Good job he's a man-made creation and doesn't exist, otherwise I would be frightened to death by him.

There is no condition. God simply created the truth of us as part of Itself. We dream we are separate and separated selves, alone on a spinning rock, with mostly questions, and very few answers. But it is a dream, from which we awoke long ago, in our terms of time. We are one beloved creation of Perfect Love. The truth of our thought is that it can never be anything but pure.

The essence of Godhood, "The Body of Enlightenment", The Dhammakaya lies with us all.

Access to this awareness is blocked by the ever active mind. When one learns to meditate correctly and still the mind ... defilement's and negative attitudes are distilled out and peace and clarity or "Purity" of mind remains, referred to as being "Awakened" accompanied by an overwhelming deep peace and contentment.

I believe its because before we take action or any physical path, we create the thought that drives the action. So, in keeping our thoughts pure, our actions which are dependant on our thoughts will be pure also.

I think it's because God likes stupid rules that are vastly outdated. Maybe, I'm not really sure.
