Its a coincidence. If you are implying that atheists are really worshiping Mohammed... that is simply not the case. Generally they are arguing about Jesus and Christianity because they are in fact arguing with Christians.

This one's too easy....I'm surprised that you even had to ask. The vast majority of english speakers will be from countries that the dominant religion is Christianity. So, if you think that that is a coincidence then, yea, it's just a coincidence. BTW atheists would probably be mocking you for believing any of it....not just picking on Jesus Christ now....you probably knew that too if you'd put a couple of minutes thought into it..

1. Most of the atheists who come to this website are from areas where Christians are in majority and their lives are effected by Christians.

2. Christians are the most active religious group here in trying to shove their religion down other people's throat, picking on others, disrespecting them, judging them and telling them they are going to hell etc. You can hardly be surprised that people get fed up with that and respond.

I'm an atheist. I personally don't mock other people's religions, but in places like this I debate about religion and I will defend my right to not believe in a superior being and to have different morals than those in the Bible. Personally, 99% of the time I find myself defending myself from Christians. I have never in my life had a non-Christian try to convert me or tell me I'm going to hell and that I'm a bad person because I don't believe in their "truth". Even in a place like this where people of many religions come together, I hardly ever see people of other religions than Christianity be disrespectful or mocking towards atheists, or even other religions.

So there you have it. Christians ask for it by doing it to others. Other religions seem to have at least some respect.

There are more Christian here so Jesus is talked about more. Every once in awhile Mohammed is mentioned.

Jesus is both divine and human and Mohammed was only human. People tend to not care much about mocking a human. They like to mock the divinity.

They are both rammed down our throats when young. Like most people on this site, it was Christianity that I was subjected to. Therefore, when I gained enough intelligence to realize that it was all a way of controlling people through myth and superstion, and downright lies, then obviously I would 'mock' to use your word, that particular faith.

If I was brainwashed in the muslim faith then it would be Mohammed I would 'mock'.

because most of the people here are from the USA and we really don't have do deal with very many Muslims, seems like most of the ones here are content to keep their condemnation of differing views to themselves, where as the Christians are very outspoken, love to meddle in politics, and are often very conflicted people and it shows in there attitude and the questions they ask, so they make a much bigger target not to mention they're the ones who usually get defensive and pissed off. there have been a few Muslims asking questions on here and the majority are just looking for a fight like the majority of Christians. Then there's also that many atheists/agnostics are little more aware of society and don't care to encourage negative relations with Muslims considering the current state of the world.

You go ahead and think about it.

Probably because every question I have asked, I get the bible shoved down my throat. I have not had Muhammed shoved down my throat. Every religeous leader was a great person, not Jesus and Jesus only.

Ok-believe whatever you want guys--but quit banning others from God because they are different from you. You are not any more special than anyone else because you worship Jesus and can't think for yourself.

YOU CAN BELIEVE IN GOD WITHOUT THE BIBLE!!
Regardless of the hate preaching Christians, telling everyone they are going to hell if they are not christian.

most christians won't kill you for mocking their god-even the hard core fundamentalist
not so with Islam...you be dead
also...tolerance of others is viewed by most christian groups to be a good thing...
no so with Islam...you be dead
also...thinking is viewed by most christian groups to be a good thing...[admittedly, some more than others]
no so with Islam...you be [brain] dead

Atheists probably don't "mock" any religion more than any other; it's probably just demographics...there is a significant christian population in the USA...and an extremely small population of Muslims...so the odds are just that much better...
btw...atheists don't usually mock other belief systems unless some proselytizer is trying to push his/her religion as being the one , true, real, revealed

Probably because you don't get accused of racisim if you mock Jesus. If you mock Mohammed, or any of the other major religions, there is a chance that you'll be shouted down as being racist. No one likes to be accused of bigotry.

The Christians give conflicting answers if you ask them anything, and they get quite aggressive if you question them about issues to do with their god. Wheres this love and compassion for their fellow human beings they are supposed to have from this god. I only ask the Christians because I'm from a christian country, and dont know,or wish to know about other religions, but i feel the same about all religions. They cause nothing but trouble, and all because of these fairy stories handed down from centuries ago.
