AMEX has cards for both Canada & USA - my source has a list of credit cards on the site, most cards are for canada & US

All credit cards issued banks are normally international.
If they have VISA or Master Card logo, you can be sure of it internationality. Other payment cards can be used internationally if they are linked to some international payment network. Interac and Plus are two of the most used network. Check for their logo on your card to verify.

visa, master cards etc. are good almost anywhere in the world. they may charge a small fee for converting from one currency to another. also they may hold the charge for a month or two to get a more beneficial exchange rate (for them-not you)
