This is a lame question I know, but when a shampoo says, for example, that it's specifically for thick, wavy hair, what does this mean? Will the shampoo work in a way that will make it finer and straighter? I am choosing between shampoos: one says it's specifically for thick hair (my hair type), the other says it brings out softer hair, and the third one for shinier hair. Which do I choose? I am not sure which quality I value more in hair - softness or shininess? lol Help me out if you would.

actually it doesn't really matter how your hair is, most importantly when you chose shampoo, you need to know what is the intention of the shampoo. Is it to add volume to your hair? add moisture, make it straight, make it thin or thick and etc.. So from these knowledge, you can decide what do you think your hair needs. With this, you'll be able to choose a suitable shampoo.

I would choose a couple of different ones because it is always good to switch back and forth anyway. Use one for a week or so than switch to a different one. You will be happy with the results. That's what I do.
