Police's new propaganda to gain law enforcement more money is to jump on the terrorism band wagon.
Stupid cops are now saying that if you smoke marijuana that you are funding terrorism.
What a load of krap. If the police weren't driving up the price of marijuana so ridiculously high maybe terrorists wouldn't be interested in trying to enter the lucrative drug market that is driven by the police and corrupt laws.
If police left drug users and dealers alone the prices wouldn't be so damn high and terrorists would have no financial incentive to enter the market.
If we were back in the 1930's and beer was still illegal then the terrorist cells would probably want to make beer too because all the american public wants beer, and half of the american public likes marijuana.
So coppers if you don't want to fund terrorist cells you need to not bust all the american dope farmers. You put all the american pot growers in prison so terrorists might try to get in now.

Gee, you know what I hear people get a big sugar high from eating fattening donuts. It can probably give you quite a high.
If someday finatical politicians decided to criminalize donuts that terrorist cells would probably want to get involved in the lucrative donut black market.
I bet you cops wouldn't bust them for your coveted donuts and coffee.
Gee, Coffee is a drug isn't it. Hmmmmm, Caffeine.
Not much different then coca leaf tea.
Anytime you criminalize harmless conduct you are creating a dangerous powerful black market for criminal elements to get involved with.
Police out there why don't you do your part to stop terrorism and get with your powerful political action committees and repeal your tight a.s.s. draconian drug laws so we can keep terrorists out of the drug market.
It's your fault cops if terrorists are involved in the lucrative drug market.
You cops and politicians made it so lucrative.
So Let's take it off the black market.

But you cops will never make marijuana legal, because your a.s.se.s would be on unemployment.
Just think about it. What kind of job could you get. You're uneducated, low i.q., low self esteem, power hungry.
You'd be on welfare.
So I guess so much for legalizing marijuana. I suppose you cops would rather keep indirectly funding terrorist cells by keeping marijuana illegal.
It all sounds good until the damn terrorists blow up one of our american cities and it hurts our families. It'll be you cops fault too if it does, because you're giving the terrorists the lucrative funding opportunities.
Hell those damn terrorists might even try to poison our marijuana supply and kill americans that way too because you won't let americans grow it.
So cops you're basically terrorists too, because if you're part of the problem.
Why don't you do the right thing and legalize it and go fight suicide bombers, and chase arabs. Do something valiant for christs sake.

You guys say that alot of crime can be traced back to drugs. You're damn right it can, mostly all crime can be traced back to drugs being illegal.
Because the price of drugs is so high on the black market, addicts have to commit robbery and theft to be able to afford the high cost.
Most of the murders and assaults are because of the black market turf wars.
A lot of prostitution is because girls can't afford the high cost any other way.
If drugs were legalized you would probably stop 75% of all murders and violent crime and 80% of all property crime.
Unfortunately you'd eliminate 80% of all police and prison guards.
Uneducated and unskilled police and prison guards would be screwed. What could the millions and millions of them do for a living.
You guys would have to go to college or trade school and get a proper education and get a real job.
Hell, I'm for sending police and prison guards to college to get a real job. Just leave us all alone.

Geez. How freakin' many names are you gonna use to spout your nonsense? freedom_patriot, freedom_fighter, GodSaveAmerica, OfficerHarris, DeputySheriff, and now Justice4All. This is getting pathetic. Maybe if you stopped smoking pot, you could get a decent job. Then you'd have something useful to fill your time and you could stop wasting everyone's time on here.

Sorry, I don't buy your soap opera ritual. For one thing, I served as a Drug and Program Advisor in the Navy and the price of marijuana has never been high enough that Terrorists would use it to fund their programs. Secondly, the police do not MAKE the laws, they ENFORCE the laws. The laws are MADE by the Congress then signed by the Governor for the state or the President for the Country. Then it goes to the Senate for ratification.
It sounds like you need to go back to school and start over again. As to half the country wanting alcohol, I for one do not drink anymore. I quit twice and have no desire to start again. As to drugs, the only drugs I have ever used are what you can buy in any store when you are of age, for example cigarettes, etc. I have no desire to use drugs and I served alongside many people who did use them.
My feelings are if you get caught with the drugs, don't cry when the judge sends you to jai or prison. In the Navy when I served, you would get 3 days bread and water. No other food, simply 1 cup of water and 10 slices of bread 3 times a day for 3 days. Now they simply discharge you on the first offense.

First of all, police do not make laws, but merely enforce them (if they're doing their job). Secondly, the matter of legalizing certain drugs is more complicated that you've painted it - FAR more complicated. Writer, don't you think it a bit curious that of the world's 193 nations only perhaps one allows even the use of marijuana (the Netherlands)? The United States is not freakish in its marijuana laws. All nations have and enforce drug laws, even the Netherlands. They do so for many reasons. You need to address these reasons, not proffer the absurdity that cops have devised some scheme to dupe us into partnering in a repressive political game. Writer, don't you think the reader has the intelligence to recognize your agenda: that you are more interested in spending less on your hobby than in the more effectual battling of terrorism?

I don't make the laws, I enforce them.
Maybe you should direct your complaint to your fellow politicians that make laws(did you forget?)
Drugs are a major problem for society. A lot of crime can be traced back to drugs. ie. robbery, murder, arson, theft, etc.
Even if the gov. legalized every drug it would not stop the problems that we face.
You make argue the prices would go down right? true but the user that cannot afford $200 now will not be able to afford $100 in the future.
Some drug trafficking funds terrorism. So if you use drugs you could be supporting terrorism.

Maybe the GOVERNMENT, you know, the thing that MAKES LAWS, know exactly what to tell the public to keep drugs illegal.
Look at these answers with people who agree that a drug like marijuana should stay illegal, while they have no problem (I am more than certain) with alcohol staying legal. A drug which is highly addictive, ruins lives, causes liver damage, kills people, causes people to become violent, lowers inhibitions and causes a reasonable person to do absurd acts, have unprotected sex.
Every legal drug has negative effects. Marijuana is not a perfect harmless drug, but if alcohol, tobacco, caffeine are legal drugs, then I see no reason why marijuana should be illegal.
Even non-drugs have negative effects. Look at all the obese people in society today. How far can the government push it? What's to stop them from making fast food or junk food illegal, because it's bad for you.
HOLY ****!!! I WAS RIGHT!!! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT WOULD GO AS FAR AS CONTROLLING WHAT YOU EAT, READ THIS ARTICLE!!!!!

Think about this, every generation has stricter rules. More rules are constantly being added on to us for our "protection". Do you think helmets were mandatory in the 50s, 60s, or even in the early 90s? I don't think so. Slowly but surely we wont have much freedom left.
The government knows exactly how to tell the people what's wrong and what's right.
A person may not agree that marijuana is a good thing, even I don't think it's a good thing. But no one should be allowed to control what a person does to his own personal body, in the privacy of his own house. Smoking marijuana is a non-violent crime, it harms no one, but the user. All non-violent crimes should be legalized. How can the government tell the people what not to do with their own body??
And because it IS illegal it makes it much easier for kids and teens to posses. I can tell you as a teenager I had no problem buying weed. Drug dealers don't ID. I could never buy alcohol though, because those damn 7-11 clerks usually like to ID kids.
And if drugs were legalized, then the funds a person spends on the drug would not support terrorists, it would support the government. A lot of the crimes connected to drugs is due to the fact that the drug is illegal. ie. roberry, murder, theft, arson.
People should be educated in school about the positive and negative effects of drugs and alcohol, and given the right to decide, on their own, whether or not they think they should use the drug or not. They should not be lied to, because it is in those lies that makes a person question what is being taught, and the only way to get real answers is through experience.
Although, I do realize, that only a few would actually question what is being taught. A lot of people in society seem to love following blindly. Our forefathers did not follow blindly. This nation was built by people who questioned authority.
When I was in the 8th grade, I had to do a report on marijuana, and the only thing I could find was negative effects on the drug. Which lead me to wonder... If drugs are 100% bad, then why would a person start using to begin with? If it was bad the first time, why would a person continue to use? According to this information, short term effects are all bad, and long term effects are worse. Why are people doing drugs? Well, I found out.
Today, I agree long term effects are negative, and I regret ever abusing drugs. I no longer smoke marijuana, mostly 'cause my girlfriend wont let me. But even before she made me quit, I would get high maybe once or twice a month. About the same amount of times that I got drunk. I slowed my use of marijuana because, like I said, there is no perfect drug. All drugs have negative effects; but they also do have positive effects. And if I had just learnt that in school, maybe I wouldn't have been so curious as to what would cause a person continue using to the point of addiction. Yes, I know, there are drugs out there that can cause addiction or overdose from just the first time, and those drugs, I have no interest in gambling my life with. But for a person to continue to risk his life, that must be one hell of a drug!
If drugs MUST stay illegal, well, I believe the way we deal with drug abusers is wrong. No person should be sent to prison for a personal problem. Our prisons are overcrowded as it is, and it's mostly due to non-violent criminals. Drug abusers should be ticketed. Repeat drug abusers should be sent to rehab and the government should help society by turning the bad seeds around from their evil ways. Punishment does not help the addict. The addict will go to great lengths to get the drug he so craves. And when they get out of prison, they will still look for drugs.
"Drug addiction is a medical, social, and spiritual problem. It is NOT a criminal problem" - Mike Ruppert (Ex-LAPD Officer)

My goodness...
You need help.
First, police don't decide whether or not drugs are illegal. Second, I have never heard an officer say that if you smoke marijuana that you are funding terrorism. Third, I doubt that it is police who are driving up the cost of marijuana. Forth, all the American public does not want beer. Fifth, I doubt that half the American public likes marijuana.

Not really terrorism, but the continued illegality of most drugs certainly contributes to crime in general. That said, if your drug of choice is opium, then you really are part of a trade that has direct ties to moeny that funds terrorism...sionce much of the world's opium supply comes from regions of the world where terrorists have power. As for marijuana, it's a fairly riciculous stretch to link it to terrorism, but it does contribute to crime in general and certainly to drug cartels both within the USA, Mexico, and other countries.
Of course, the way to solve that problem immediately is to legalize pot. While there is still some crime associated with black market alcohol and tobacco, it's not nearly the problem it would be if those things were illegal. Prohibition of alcohol created huge crime problems.

The actions of one lazy Police Officer does not support your claim that all of us don't care if people smoke it or enforce the drug laws of our state. Your friends should have been charged with the weed and the driver should have been charged with DWI. Your friends were lucky, maybe next time the drive high they'll wind up wrapped around a telephone pole.

I dislike cops. However, they only enforce laws. They don't make them. The drugs are illegal because of laws passed by Congress. Some of the prohibitions are good, some not so good, a few foolish. They created the illegal drug trade
But ultimately, it is the people that fork over the cash that support the drug trade. If you use illicit drugs, look in the mirror. There's your answer.

Sounds to me you've been hitting the pipe a tad too much. Cops don't make laws, my friend, they enforce them.
Let me guess...you're more than a recreational drug user. I'm probably right.
Where are your facts that half of Americans like marijuana? Maybe that is just another of your drug-induced ideas.
It also sounds like you have "issues" with police officers.
Imagine that.

If the answers received so far are any indication really I am afraid not only Bush but even God cannot save America. The questioner is a real innocent abroad. A story had appeared some years ago in magazine where the monarch had adopted the quite simple ruse of abolishing crime from his kindgom. He had striken out the relevant provisions from the criminal procedure code and made a big saving by disbanding police, courts andsent the lawyers abegging in the street. Like the other king, quite his opposite, who had destowen titles quite liberally to his people so that you could find a fieid marshal begging on the street. However, even in those bizarre times nobody had a brilliant idea like this questioner had. Oh, what a world it would have been to live in. In fact, some of the worst tyrants in India who were very puritanical had rigid control over crime. Allauddin Khiljee had a large pot of molen metal -melted from metal containers of intoxicants-in which drunkards were thrown in. Aurangazeb, the India equivalent of Oliver Chromwell, had destroyed all musical instruments and externed all singers and dancers from his empire. What is lacking is firm implementation of the drug laws. While some drug adicts may be participating in bigoted terrorist activities(intoxcated enough to feel themselves gazies, saviours, liberators terrorism itself is dictated by entirely different motives. The police may be hiding their inefficiency behind drugs but mistake not the really motivated terrorists are extremely puritanical in character. We may abhor them and rightly so but do not paint them black this way. Nobody but you yourself would be deluding yourself.
