This may sound funny so let me explain... It was love at first sniff. I have a great, strong & beautiful dog! I have known him for many years & have been his proud "mommy" for about a year & a half. I am always trying to do what is best for him and he is now 7 1/2 at about 80lbs. He loves to take me for runs, beach trips, going to work with roommates & always down to hang with his pals at the park. I have noticed a bit of a "beer belly" so to speak, appearing on him. I have also noticed his really icky gas. I know that boxers are known for their gas... but come on. It is so bad his fumes wake me from a dead sleep & you know it's bad when he wakes up lookin at his rear like he just heard the "knocking at door" sound coming from his rear.

Don't get me wrong, Zeus & I are doing very well; I would like to make sure that things keep going that way for a long time.

Thank you - we both appreciate it!

The gassy foods are corn (doesn't digest fully) and soy ( beans!)..beet pulp causes the food to pass too fast for complete digestion...Changing his kibble to a premium kibble with none of the above ingredients will help the stink problem, and will affect his weight...He should eat what he will eat in 10 minutes, twice per day..Pick up the bowl between feeding..You might want to feed a weight control formula.. You won't find a decent kibble on your grocer's shelves, or at WalMart..You need to get his food at a pet supply shop...Ask them which brands they carry that will fit his needs..Premium kibble costs more per bag, but less per month, and really pays off in good health, especially as he is aging..

I have a cat and a german shepherd puppy that used to do that...gotta love the look of what was that? come from me?

Have you contacted your vet? You might not have to make a visit. Explain about the gas. Generally they will ask what type of food you feed him, then recommend a new brand that will create less gas for him.

My Boxer is 10 and we feed him 3 1/2 cups a day (dry). We also don't leave food in his bowl, if you keep adding food he will keep eating...and become round. Good luck...
