My vet was thinking maybe we kicked my dog. It was a bit offensive but I explained the whole thing. Later I thought I might want to call to validate the deer did it. Would you just find a new vet or clear the air, again? (She said when I left...a purposeful stop out as i was leaving..."it's just so odd she could get that close to a deer that wasn't tame". I said "we feed deer off our deck daily". She said "o" and that was that. But I think she thinks we are abusers now and I feel odd going back. Your thoughts?

Don't act guilty and they will not think you are guilty. If you are innocent, you have nothing to worry about.

She was rude, I would find another Vet and when you see this other Vet tell this new one why you changed so when you bring in the new records from the other clinic, that is if you choose to, everything will be out in the open and you will be looked at as a very nice and good responsibile pet owners. Afterwards, I would call that clinic and ask to talk to the owner of the clinic and tell them why you left and how offensive she was. That was uncalled for! If she is the owner, tell her or send her a detailed letter and I would write an opinion in the paper letting the town know how she is, accusing, offinsive and hurtfull. I would not give that Bi.cH any more money for services, forget her! dam, she needs to be be kicked in the head with some sense for just making assumptions. If you were bad pet owners, you surely would not have taken your hurt dog in there for help or due to concern. Kicking someone's butt is tempting, isn't it? She didn't even apoligize to you after tyou told her, so she is no good! Give another vet your business! Glad your dog is OK. At least I hope it is, those kicks can kill as those bucks can.

Would you continue to go to a doctor or send your kids to a doctor you didn't like? If you think this is a good vet, continue to go. If you don't like them for whatever reason, attitude, price, look of the place, etc...then by all means find another. You stated that you feed deer she said oh which means she understands. If she didn't believe you she would of turned you in for cruelty to animals to the police department or ASPCA. She is either young or hasn't had much experience with deers and dogs. Alot of dogs get kicked, protecting their property. More than likely by your next visit she won't remember you were there until she looks at the chart, if she even does. I worked for a vet, they see strange things all the time. Some they question, most they don't.

I can't see someone saying that -unless your demeanor was terribly uncaring . They want your business , so it doesn't make sense . Maybe you imagined the reaction , due to some guilt in not being able to keep fido from getting hurt . You thinking what the doctor is thinking -is just too much needless thinking . Let it go . It's probably nothing . The vet may not have a good dog-side manner .

If you can find another vet nearby that you like then maybe that is a good idea. If you like your present vet, but just feel uncomfortable around her now maybe you need to send her a note and explain yourself and tell her you don't want her to think you abuse your dog. If she still acts weird toward you - get another vet.

I would get a different vet. But I have always heard from sportsmen that's it's wrong to let your dogs chase deer. Why don't you keep your dog confined so he can't do that?

Go back & stand your ground.
Give the vet a second chance.
If your treated oddly second time around, she doesn't need your business.
