I think they can change if they want to, no one can force them to. They just need to find something that isn't worth loosing.

Once a cheater always a cheater. They never change. It is an addiction like smoking and drugs.

Always a cheater. I think it would be the hardest thing to change a cheater and could never trust them again. If you have the selfishness to cheat than its one of your many poor life time qualitys of a person. And you can never grow out of this. That my 2 cents.

Usually, once a cheater, always a cheater. I am sure there might be an exception, but rarely.

Judging by the question you are seeking counsel to maybe a personal involvement and looking for a way to forgive yourself or him/her. This depends entirely on the person. Take note that if one has cheated forgive but be cautious. Trust must be earned. If it was a one time mess up and came clean immediately it could be possible that change will befall him/her but if it was not a situation of coming clean and several escaped were skirted let go. If you point blank confront the person and they deny the truth they are on a self and you hurting path. No one should suffer such lies and deceit. Why would he she do it. There are a lot of factors to consider. How clearly you two were committed. To me to cheat is no no and I would forgive and let go. Save yourself for marriage..lust is way too confusing dangerous and hurtful. For whomever..regret shouldn't be longer as you consider and act on such impulses...cold showers can be a good remedy. Remember VD's people...commitment to anyone shouldn't be taken lightly...your word should be your home stone.

once a cheater always a cheater, like once aslut always aslut... my suggestion is to step on his balls and let him know that any cheating and it is a stomp

It is a hard one. I he has this reputation, he will find it very difficult to break that rep and build a good one. It might take some time before anyone would trust him again, but it is always possible for someone to change, once he has started listening to the Holly Spirit. Just check him out, he might be faking it. Good Luck!!
