Sure. I've done it, too.

Sure, if you enjoy mashed vegetables and meats as a cold casserole. Most canned goods are dead foods, not nutrient dense. Bacteria generally find little of value to thrive on because it's a highly processed food product. I would say it's highly unlikely that you could get sick - much safer than raw eggs, raw meat or even milk.
I mean, I would heat it up though because geez - I'm always hearing about the mad cow and the e coli in the spinach and yada yada yada - it's only a matter of time before someone dies from eating Campell's soup right out of the can.

Absolutely. It has to pass safety inspections before it leaves the plant. I do it all the time, and I'm healthy as a horse. That's just a saying; actually, how healthy is a horse?

Yes. Perfectly safe. They've gotta cook the stuff before it leaves the factory. So, as long as the lack of warmth doesn't disturb you, eat up. <*)))><

All food canned is safe to eat because it was cooked and sterilized in the canning process

I'd say yes.
But i'd rather have it served up hot.
In my opinion, soup just tastes better hot!

it's safe.. but how do you heat it?.. you can't pop it in the microwave.. and if you heat it on the stove, the can will be too hot to hold.

Why not? If it wasn't, there'd be instructions that you have to cook it, and it wouldn't say "ready to eat"...
