Do marines really think it is their God given right to cheat? I have heard this over and over that they feel they do not have to live by the moral standards of marrage. They feel they should be able to cheat. Is this true? Please answer honestly....

I'm very sorry that your friend had this experience. Yes, it is true that some Marines cheat, but cheating has nothing to do with an occupation. A cheater might as easily be a mechanic, or a college professor, of even a former president of the U. S. There are also some women who cheat. If there weren't cheaters there would be no "Jerry Springer Show".

Failing to honor your marital vows comes from a lack of personal integrity, and self respect. Don't you agree that it is better for your friend to find out now rather than staying with him until he "catches" something she doesn't want? Honor comes from the heart and I would like to believe that more men have honor than haven't, but unfortunately, some don't.

I served three years on active duty in the military and never once considered cheating. I also have personal knowledge that the men who comprised my circle of "buddies" didn't either (like minds sticking together, or something). The Marine Corps has many fine, honorable, upstanding, young men in its ranks. I'm sorry your friend didn't find one of them.

I don't believe it. I have a girl friend who is married to a marine and he gets pissed if a guy even glances at her. He's been training a lot (and I know he's not lieing about that, because of Iraqi Freedom, soldiers are very busy) and the moment he was done, my girl friend asked me to tag along with her on a 10 hour drive from El Paso,TX to 29 Palms, CA to pick him up and bring him back so the could be together for the first time since 2 and 1/2 months ago. After they spent their vacation together, he had to go back to Cali to deploy in 10 days from now. This he also cannot lie about because this info is on his orders which, since she is in the Army herself, she can read and understand. So his free time is spent with her the best he can. I'm a very good judge of caracter and can understand a person in a day. I've spent a few days with them and I can tell and believe that he's very committed to his relationship, they are very committed to each other. I DO believe that marines think they're god like!

I feel it depends on the person, if you have a grippy witch person back home your not really gonna miss that, even tho you are bound by marriage and should get a divorce this does not happen always..

Then there is marines getting bored or who they pick to be around as buddies who influence them, or drinking..sometimes also they get so lonely, none of this is a reason but it happens..and its just the way it is..

Now from time to time i believe there is good guys who do not cheat and love there family and kids, and hold on to coming home but sometimes even those who cheat love back home but sometimes they just somehow think its ok no matter what..maybe its they think no one will know, and so on..who knows..but the main thing it is hard on a marriage, the kids, and family for someone to be away so long, and not have things come up and them be strong enough to say my love of my life is back home and i will not hurt them..

Who knows there is always 2 sides to the story..

Marine, military, army, AF, Coast shield, Wal Mart Managers, Taco Bell workers, between the boys I paintings together with his spouse...all of them cheat..properly no longer All, yet they are going to cheat inspite of profession. Has no longer something to do with the Marines or an profession somewhat Human Nature. yet back, you acquire component to it suitable, a number of them do, the final public of something do no longer and Boy friends and Husbands do it too........

I think the statement is totally ridiculous.
Some people cheat and some people don't - it has nothing to do with the military or not, although some military personnel are more subject to being deployed for long periods of time which may expose them to more temptation.

Well that's a complete stereotype...It depends on the individual person or Marine you speak of...

It goes like this...A few people do something...Then the entire group of people (Marines) get judged because of someone else's actions, and unfairly...

Yes a lot of them do think that, some for different reasons. Usually it is the woman that cheats on the marines best friend while he is away protecting his home land.

"How shall we distinguish that which is good in pleasure from that which is not good?"

Go to your fields and your gardens, and you shall learn that it is the pleasure of the bee to gather honey of the flower,

But it is also the pleasure of the flower to yield its honey to the bee.

For to the bee a flower is a fountain of life,

And to the flower a bee is a messenger of love,

And to both, bee and flower, the giving and the receiving of pleasure is a need and an ecstasy.

People of Orphalese, be in your pleasures like the flowers and the bees.
