Maybe his ring would save few lives. But all the riches of the Vatican and of all churches in the world would definitely put an end to world hunger.

None. The Pope doesn't own his ring. God does. That ring belongs to Christ and his Church.

You think like Judas:

Joh 12:3 Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of right spikenard, of great price, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
Joh 12:4 Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, he that was about to betray him, said:
Joh 12:5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor?
Joh 12:6 Now he said this not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief and, having the purse, carried the things that were put therein.
Joh 12:7 Jesus therefore said: Let her alone, that she may keep it against the day of my burial.
Joh 12:8 For the poor you have always with you: but me you have not always.

None! GOD gave humans a free will! Killing other people is a choice freely made by the ones doing the killing! The state of the world, is as it is because of choices people make.

No one is forced to make the choices that they do. GOD does not intervene in the choices that humans make. No one is made to love or hate. We chose it. The lies that are told, were chosen, the nothing response is because we choose not to respond.

We chose not to learn, ignore our debts, to become pregnant, ignore our children, our responsibilities as part of the human society.

Why do you question what the Pope should/could do while you have done and are doing nothing!

Just think of the many lives we could save if we pawned off the pope altogether. I think he's worth a bit. What is he used for anyway?

It could be quite a few. Wouldn't that be a sign to the world? I won't say Catholics in general aren't charitable though, because I know they, like many other religions, contribute quite a bit to all kinds of charities.
