Hydroquinone is a popular one. It is a prescription drug for the treatment of many disorders of skin coloration. But it is available in some markets without a prescription. Risks include permanent skin discoloration of a bluish/black color, or temporary skin irritation and discolorment (red and itchy).
Also concerning is the combination of hydroquinone with retinoids (vitamin-A_ products. These have been shown to cause birth defects in some cases.
Please talk to your doctor before using the product you are looking at. We'd hate to see you hurt yourself trying to look beautiful.
