I think too much about everything. I worry that I am a bad person because I like buying nice clothes. I feel guilty when I listen to mainstream music. I am worried that anything I do for fun is destroying the earth. I have taken ecstasy three times, mushrooms 4 times, cocaine twice, salvia once and codeine and weed quite a bit. Do you think these drugs might have contributed to this?

Yes, the drugs could certainly be playing a role in your anxiety. It would be best to stop using them and just be yourself. You probably already know this, but go see a counselor. There is nothing to be afraid of, and it can only help you get off the drugs and get over the anxiety. If you are truly having anxiety, then a doctor (psychiatrist) or psychiatric nurse may decide to prescribe you an antianxiety med, like Prozac, which is an SSRI. Meds like Xanax are also useful, but due to the potntial of addiciton, meds like Xanax are not prescribed for long term use. Of course, there is always the possibility that these could be addictive, especially if you have had prior addictions. That is why it's extremely important to stay in counseling while taking the meds. Research has shown that cognitive behavioral therapy + meds are more effective than either alone. Here is info about anxiety in general: http://www.webmd.com/content/article/60/67142.htm I hope this helps.

I am now 38, but I can tell you I felt pretty much that way as a teenager as well. I am sure that all the people that you think are looking at you, are also deep down inside fighting their own confidence battles. Some people can hide it, others can't. Social skills are not something we are automatically born with. some people do have more confidence and this can be due to their personality or their upbringing - if they have parents who are very socially active. You need to take baby steps and learn social skills - they do not come overnight. Age and life experiences will help to grow your confidence. You must get back to school and face your fears - even the horrible years are a good learning experience, even though it may not feel like it now. I used to write down a list of interesting topics to talk about socially, I memorised the list or took it with me on social occasions so that if I got stuck for conversation (I looked at it in the bathroom) I knew I had a list to help me through. You have a few years yet of looking like a fool, feeling hopeless and lonely, you are definately a normal teenager!! Get yourself out there and learn from your experiences. Friends will come also, remember one good friend is all you need - not a whole bunch of half / hearted friends. You have so much ahead of you, these years are just the very beginning - if only we could all realise that at age 16!!! If you feel you need help, see a school councelor or local doctor about your concerns - they could steer you in the right direction. Best of luck - you are definately not alone!

Yes, don't do the drugs. It sounds like you have experimented, as most of us have sometime in our lives, but some of the drugs you mentioned above are stimulant based and can increase anxiety. It's safe to say all the drugs you mentioned can have this side effect to them. It sounds like you need to see a psychiatrist to diagnose a mental disorder. You shouldn't feel guilty about listening to mainstream music for crying out loud. There are some issues I hope you can discuss with your physican to determine your current mental state. I am not trying to ridicule you, I think a mental evaluation is very much in order. I hope you seek help and good luck to you.

No, I think it is your conscience talking to you! Try to be the best person you can be and don't mess with harmful drugs. Enjoy life and try not to give yourself reasons to feel bad about what you have done.Buying nice clothes is fine, because it is something you enjoy and not harmful to you. If you enjoy listening to mainstream music, that is fine. Those things will not destroy the earth. You will be contributing to destroying the earth, when you destroy yourself with drugs. Hang in there and be the best you can be for yourself and the earth will be a better place. God bless you!

Yes the drug's could be the reason to your anxiety disorder.Have you ever experienced anxiety without drugs? And did it affect you badly?....All that can lead to depression and a morn for more.Thats why they banned drugs in US because it affects your body and makes you ill.Seek help at the doctor's and prescribe medication. And that is why you wont see shops selling drug's which you have taken.Because they have side affect's and could cause damage to your immune system.

Absolutely yes. Taking all those things definitely has contributed to having an anxiety disorder. I would suggest seeking help immediately. Seeing a psychiatrist or seeking counseling in general can definite relieve this problem.

I wish you well.
