one bag of 7grain cereal from the hot breakfast or all natural foods section. This will give to tons of nutrients, last a long time and make you feel full for a long time (unlike bread which is a simple carb) Stay away from the alcohol, you need to keep from starving and you know its bad for you. Then get some dark green vegetable like frozen spinach (very cheep and NO eccoli), pick up some chicken thighs with skin (if you like skin) the fat will fill you up and you won't need to eat as much. Pick up an onion and some water -tada! you wont starve this week!

I'm the shopping queen and I can tell you EXACTLY what you should get at the grocery store.
1. Get a gallon of milk (milk as an absolute must). If you have a Walgreens in your area, see if they are running a sale on Milk. If they are, you can get it for $1.99 a gallon (a lot cheaper than many grocery stores).
2. Get some Ramen noodles. Satisfying, tasty and really, really cheap.
3. Get some boxes of generic mac and cheese. Cheap and filling.
4. Get a bag (not a box, a generic brand bag) of cereal.
5. Get a dozen eggs.
6. Get a jar of peanut butter and a jar of jelly.
7. Get another loaf of bread.
If you shop smart and buy the right brands (not the most expensive brands) you should be able to get all of this for less than $15. You won't be eating gourmet meals, but you won't be going hungry either.

sounds like my fridge when I was in college. I could make a rotisserie chicken last about a week by cooking it with different meals. You have bread and cheese...with the chicken you can make sandwiches.
You might also buy a small bag of rice....stir fried rice and chicken.
Tortillas ... chicken quesadillas with the cheese and chicken.
a personal favorite of mine was ramen noodles. There's so much you can do with it here are two ways I like to eat the noodles:
1. in a bowl put you noodles with water in the microwave for about 5 minutes. Drain the water add one slice of cheese, the flavor pack and a couple of dashes of hot sauce. Mix it all up until the cheese melts completely. It's was a favorite after bar meal while in college.
2. brown some hamburger meat. Cook the noodles like normal in another pan or in the microwave and drain the water. Mix the cooked noodles and flavor pack into the cooked hamburger meat. Yummy.
So to answer your question I'd get the following:
1 cooked rotisserie chicken (usually under $5)
Doz flour tortillas ($2-$3)
Noodles (you should be able to get a lot for under $2)
small bag of rice ($1)
With the remaining 5 or so dollars, I might get some hamburger meat or lunch meat just so I wouldn't have to eat chicken everyday.

Get a pint of milk $0.75, a box of macaroni & cheese mix $.025, a small container of margerine . $0.99 and one small can of tuna fish $1.50. Total including NC sales tax $3.78 Make the macroni & cheese mix in the tuna fish and four people can eat and feel full from it .
Now if you only use the milk to make this you'll have enough for 5 to 7 days , you'll have more than enough butter also. If you don't mind eating the same thing then it will cost you and additional $12.00 and you'll have food for seven days straight everynight. This cost a little less than 15.00.

How about a little bit of sandwhich meat to go along with that bread and cheese. And then maybe some milk and eggs (standards). you could buy a few pieces of chicken breast and garlic and then cook it up with a bit of that onion. Or buy some canned soup, thats always pretty cheap. hmmm lets see... you could also get some brocoli and carrots to stirfry with the onion and garlic, thats always yummy. just be creative there are a ton of things that you could get from the grocery story for 15 bucks.

You don't say how long the $15 has to feed u for. To make it go the farthest, get some margerine, some cheap pasta, & a couple of cans of Prego, & u can eat for a week. Ramen is uber-cheap, if u cn stomach it. With some lowfat milk & cereal u shd be able to hold out for at least a week. I have. Of course, u may run out of booze......
