I dont get to talk to my bf very often, hes in the navy and on cruise for months at a time! Weve know each other since we were 8 and i always knew he liked me but i kept it at a friendship level until a couple mos. b4 he was off to japan....NOW when he does call hes not very nice and says things that he knows hurt my feelings! why does he do this? i dont understand? any ideas or advice is appreciated THX

Oh, I feel awful saying this. But I think the other poster is right...he may be fooling around or at least thinking of it. He probably feels guilty and resents that he feels that way and is taking it out on you. Don't stay with someone because you have a history. Stay with someone because you have a future.

there could be a couple of reasons 1. maybe he had a fantasy of what the two of you being together would be like and now it's a reality 2. maybe he has found somone else or 3. maybe he is struggling in japan. be honest with him and confront him about his behaviour. maybe you two are better to go back to being friends. good luck.

Ok sweetie just to be real honest with you, when my ex boyfriend was doing that to me he was messing with other other girls. And being that you guy's are apart for months at a time he has plenty of time to mess around. I'm really sorry! And I hope you will be alright
