I wouldn't bother with fuzzy handcuffs to begin with, but not for that reason. They are most often the cheap, single-lock variety, which can be a problem in terms of keeping them from putting too much pressure on the wrist if you can't get the jaw to stop closing.
There is definitely some excitement from the feel of standard, police-style handcuffs, I'll agree. However, if you are looking to be "active" with them, they aren't the best on the wrists, as the unforgiving nature of metal can put pressure on the nerves and blood vessels that lead to the hands, and neither nerve damage nor gangrene is all that appealing. (The fuzzy cuffs are the same way.) Instead, leather "bondage cuffs" are better design for, uh, household use. ;-)
