get a q-tips (cotton buds) and put on some baby oil, just use that to clean your belly button and wipe dry afterwards

I don't believe that there is a proper way. You should just clean it when you take a bath its an area that you should wash with soap and water like you would with the rest of your body. Wet a wash rag and dig in.

when you shower... use common sense, at least you're cleaning it... but for those of you common senseless...
1. get a warm wet wash rag
2. get some soap
3. put the soap on the warm wet wash rag
4. insert soapy rag into belly button
5. wipe using a circular motion from the inside out
6. rinse
7. repeat steps 1-6 if necessary
8. dry

clean with warm water while in the shower,let the water fall gently in ur belly button n if its infected or has any smell,clean it with dettol,simple as that.

Wash it...while your in the shower stick your finger, wash clothe, or what ever you use in your belly button and wash it!

With body wash/soap and water in the shower... lather up, use your finger or a scrubby bath sponge and suds up the belly button, too. (Don't forget to wash the rest of you, too, especially pits, feet and yer bumm!) Oh yeah, one more thing... DAILY, please.
