Why is my TV screen jumping down?

My TV is an old Samsung having Red, Yellow and White cable compatibilty. When the telesonic DVD is connected, pictures can not be seen as they jump down at a high speed. What should I do? I used a video converter with an RF output too. Nothing works.

I think your TV has a vertical hold fault ! If you can find the vert hold it may be at the front in a flap that opens, If you have such a flap try adjusting vert hold , it should be set approx halfway when things are normal , if the vert hold is among 4 controls labelled bright , contrast , colour and vert hold it was very common for all these controls to go faulty , they although they are mounted on a common subboard they can be replaced individually, they only cost a dollar each or so, if I remember correctly the vert hold is 100kohm, the other controls also go faulty and give a pale washed out pic if its the contrast or no colour if its the colour control.
