Financially, the Air Force because there are fewer people and the leftover funds are alittle bit greater and get put back into housing and such, so they always have the nices posts and housing and bonuses are better and so is the pay. However, the Army has a wider range of jobs to choose from and need people more than other branches. My Hubby actually wanted to try for the Coast Guard, but it's harder to join than any other branch and their requirements are more outrageous. He was made to take accutane by his mom, and when he told the Coast Guard recruiter this, they said to get back in touch in 18 months, even though he had only taken it for a week. The Army on the other hand said that as long as he stopped taking it immediately they'd take him immediately. So, he joined the Army so he can put in a branch transfer to the Coast Guard when he gets back from Deployment next November. I say do your research on all branches and find out which suits you better personally. Don't go off of what anyone tells you or expects you to do. This is YOUR life and YOUR future and not anyone elses. GOOD LUCK!

I'm in the Air Force, and the person saying we're the Chair Force...*rolls his eyes* as for the question. Air Force, because I can get a job in the Air Force, get out, and be paid about 4 times as much as a civilian. Or perhaps go work for a higher government agency.

I tried to enlist in the Air Force out of high school, but couldn't go due to health reasons. I liked the fact that the leadership allowed and expected you to think. I liked that it was less physically demanding. And I liked the broad array of civilian applications many of the posts had. I was going to go to the Defense Language Institute, to study Russian (in 1994, this was still a worry), and then I would have headed to an intelligence post in eastern Europe. When I got out, I would have had an AA from my studies at DLI, and could have finished a BA in about 3 semesters, then I could have taught languages anywhere.

I joined the U.S. Army long ago and trained as a combat medic and behavioral sciences specialist. If I could enlist again, I'd be a registered nurse working in peds or hospice.

Durring no war times I'd say anything but Navy. However I had to re-evaluate that thought for "war" time. The Navy, oh yes, The Navy. You can fire on those son of...and be far enough away if they tried to retaliate, you have time to react.
STAY SAFE!!!
