The best thing i can say (because i know first hand that it works) is climbing a mountain. Either hiking or rock climbing. People get into bad posture mostly because most of our lives we are looking down for some reason or other and our bodies over time grow in a way to help out with what we do most. The more time and excercise you can spend looking up the better. Walk uphill for as far as you can at least once a week and you should start to see an improvement in your posture before a month has gone by. That is just one of many reasons climbing mountains is good for you. Its good for the heart, legs and back muscles also.
Chin up! Good luck!

This is a simple yoga stretch, stand with feet together and arms by side lift your head as if there was a string pulling it up. slowly raise your arms out to your side then turn your palms upward and raise them above your head. Now move on to your tip toes. Now take it all back down - you should be in the correct posture . Or walk around with a book on your head.

try deep breathing before you exercise.
STANCE
feet parallel
knees slightly bent
pelvis slightly tucked (suck in your lower stomach below the bellybutton)
chest lifted
shoulders relaxed, back and down
chin parallel with floor
BREATHING TECHNIQUE - IN
Mouth closed
Breathe in through the nose
Your stomach will extend as you pull the breathe in
Your chest will rise on its own
BREATHING TECHNIQUE - OUT
Mouth closed
Breathe out through the nose (keeping the chest lifted) - RELEASING THE BREATHE from:
The Pelvis
then the belly button
to the Solar Plexus
as your breathe comes out through the nose your shoulders will go further back and down and the top of your head will release toward the ceiling (or the sky)
Try 3 breathes like this one set every hour. You will pick up your metabolism, improve your posture and clear your mind.

Pilates and yoga are excellent for posture...
As well as the stability ball.. sitting on the stability ball activates your lower back muscles to help keep your posture.
try it while you are on your computer for 30 minutes a day
I promise great results in less than 4 days guaranteed!!!

Pull your belly button back to your spine and up. When you do this, you strengthen the rectus abdominus. Do this when you work out, walk, sit stand. This will improve your posture and is the #1 thing you can do.
Secondary to this is a good ab workout.

When you catch yourself slumping, just sit/stand straight. I'm going through that now. I notice that I have horrible posture these days. LOL!
