When north Vietnam " reunited" with the south, the whole of vietnam become a communist country. Like china they slowly and selectively open up their economy to foreign investors. Ho chi men city (saigon before) is bustling with economic activities.
I was there in 2003.

since 1975 when the americans were kicked out of Vietnam ,there is no such south vietnam, it is called Vietnam only
