650 calories a day? You need at least 1200 calories a day

do NOT cut your calories by that much you will only destroy your metabolism and risk health issues. If you do this it will not lat long and when you start eating again you will gain it all back, but this time with less muscle and more fat.

Diets that drastically restrict calories are the absolute worst thing you can do. Yes you may see the scale move and your weight drop. This is because your body goes into starvation mode and begins eating your muscles and storing fat. Muscle weighs more than fat so the scale tells you your losing weight but your losing the wrong weight. As you lose muscle you lose your ability to burn fat (muscles = metabolism).

Here is what you need to do:

eat 5 meals per day at 20% less than your maintenance calorie level. use the following formula to get yours:
calories = 655 + (9.6 X wt in kg) + (1.8 X ht in cm) - (4.7 X age in years)

Do cardio 3-5 times a week.

Add some resistance training into your life.

Again please don't cut your calories as stated you will not lose fat.

Toots, you really shouldn't go for a 650 calorie diet. It's unhealthy. 1000 calories minimum. Have you tried the TWA Stewardess diet? Also referred to as "Lose 10 pounds in 3 days". I tried it, lost 5 pounds. Too much to type here, but it's a worthwhile diet. You can make fat-free substitutions in it and trim off even more calories. Look into it!

Could you possibly give a little more information on why you need this diet ?

A lot of people are assuming it's for you and that you want to lose weight. Is this a correct assumption?

If you do want to lose weight, there is a great book called "Body Clutter" that you can order from www.flylady.net This book helps you to examine why you want to lose weight and explores your relationship with food.

Please remmeber that all of your problems in life won't go away when you lose weight. There is no such thing as a "perfect" life. You can control more things in your life than you may realize, not just your weight.

The body you have is the only one you'll ever get in this lifetime, so please be kind to yourself. If you are still under the age of about 25, dieting is useless anyways. People don't stop growing until about the age of 21. Boys are still filling out in the shoulders and upper chest in thier eary 20's and a young woman dosen;t settle into her figure until her early 20's.

Although the answers to your question may seem negative, every one of the people who answered are worried for you. Please take care of yourself, honey.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. That is way too low and unhealthy.You should eat healthy foods and try not to go lower then 1200 calories or it'll take you a lot longer to lose weight (your body will go into a starvation mode and try to protect itself as long as possible) then you'll loose weight along with muscle and you don't want to loose that.You're going to get yourself really sick on only 650 calories. NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!

I also agree...650 calories a day is not enough....It's unhealthy and you'll get sick if you only consume 650 calories a day...the calories you need to take a day to still lose weight depend on your weight...it could vary from 1,200 up to 2,300...so, you should go to a dotor or nutritionist so he or she can make you a healthy diet.

650? You know that will cause your body to go into a state of conserving and actually slow down your metabolism, right? You need about 1200 to lose a couple pounds a week.
