It is not bad for most people. For some people it makes their brain feel "funny". Those people, when tested with an electroencephalogram have "left temporal spikes" which are the same spikes found in people with epilepsy.
You would have to eat it by the buckets to get cancer from it.

Aspartame was reported to have been originally developed as a powerful ANT POISON. There is a lot of controversy about it and suspicions of it causing many kinds of terrible diseases and some people are trying to get it pulled from the market. I personally won't touch it. Use Splenda instead which is naturally derived from sugar.

If my memory serves me, Aspartame was only found dangerous to laboratory animals when taken in a HOT host agent. That is to say that its not great for you in hot cocoa, but relatively harmless in a cold agent like soda.
Let this be a lesson to you. Don't drink diet soda hot. Or put aspartame in your coffee

You are assuming that only good is allowed to be marketed to the public and are overlooking the true reason products are on the market: profit.
Americans are overweight and don't want to change their eating habits to resolve the problem. Along comes a product that allows them to continue to drink their sweet sodas but promises no added fat. We're talking match made in sales heaven.
Now we reveal that it's bad for our health. Ah, so is tobacco, alcohol, the sun, any number of other things we happen to enjoy taking in.
You have to make the choice to take care of the body you got...ain't nobody else gonna.

It's all about the money!!! Moneyy!!! Greeeddd!!!
Corporations dont care about the public at all. They know the negative effects of thier products and put them on the market anyway. In conjunction with aspartame, they add other chemicals which dont have to be included on the labels which have chemically addictive effects which literally make you want more of the product. Did you know back when Coca-Cola was first being produced, it literally had COCAINE in it? They put it in because it was addicting and it ENSURED they would have more sales. If your customer is ADDICTED to the product, they will HAVE to buy more of it. They put products into our food to degenerate our health and bodies and make us addicted to what they sell. They care nothing about our lives and simply want our money. Avoid all sodas at all costs.

First off, who said it was bad. And if so, bad could be relative to how much of it you use.
Post your source (are they reliable---not someone who decided they did not like aspartame) and then maybe we can answer your question.
