Splenda is derived from sugar and considered the safest sugar substitute. Drinking sugary soda is yummy but the sugar does bad stuff to our teeth and adds empty calories to our diets so if you can handle doing without it go for it.

Sodas should be avoided at all costs. However if you are going to drink soda, it is best to drink the ones with sugar. Sad however, that there is rarely any real sugar in them anyway. They come in the form of high fructose corn syrup and processed white sugar which is a concentrated version. These highly processed sugars are very dangerous for the body and block absorbtion of nutrients. Did you know that trucks which carry the syrup used to flavor Pepsi and Coke are marked as hazardous material.

Not drinking soda at all is definitely best. From a health point of view, you might want to consider the following:
Splenda has a lower glycemic index than sugar.
Splenda is a very refined substance--there are less refined sugars available, if your concern is chemical processes, etc.
If you're in the process of weaning yourself away from sodas, drink more water so you're not thirsty. If you have a craving for something sweet, have a little bit of fruit. (A piece of fruit is better for you than fruit juice.)
If you're weaning yourself off of sugar, try agave nectar as your sweetener. You can get it a health food store, and at some grocery chains like Whole Foods or Wegmans. It tastes much better than any other sweetener I've tried, it's organic, and if you get nectar made from blue agave, the glycemic index is very low. (11, according to one source I read.)

It dependa on your glycemic metabolism. If you are "at risk" diabetic go for the Splenda. (So far there are NO studies that prove it is determental to humans.) Also. diet soda will not leave you teeth supsectable to tooth decay as soda with sugar. Just ask some one who work in orthodontics.

Splenda. The safest sugar substitute out there. So far, the only thing they've found wrong with it is that it can cause bouts of memory loss.

Splenda... a lot of the risks for artificial sweeteners are theoretical. The risks of sugar are well known...diabetes, obesity, etc. If you must have a soda---go for the sugar free.

Try to avoid such drinks:
If you want you can drink soda with lemon & sugar mix in water
i.e. first take glass with little water
put 2 tea-spoon sugar and mix
then cut lemon - squeeze lemon in to glass and mix again
then immediately pour soda into glass and mix
then dirnk immediately....good taste....
(drink maximum a glass at a time
once in a week or lesser quanity only)
(if you want add little (very very small quantity) salt powder - try it or do't put salt)
If the combinations & quantity not correct, then it will not give you a good taste
then try next time - may add sugar little more to taste better...
Once again, it is not good to drink any kind of soft drinks like Coco,soda,pep-etc. - or reduce quantities.
Try today my friend...
Best of Luck
