As a life-long smoker who quit 9 months ago, I am guessing that your cough is related to smoking. Lung diseases can develop in people who are not chain smokers or who have smoked a long time. Your doctor will start with a lung x-ray though lung cancer cannot be detected from an x-ray. Try the stop-smoking aids and see if over time your cough goes away. I had a terrible hack and no longer cough. I have also had a hyperthyroid and I took daily medication and frequent blood tests to monitor. The thyroid effects every organ of the body so having it controlled is important. The doc's may decide to give you iodine so your thyroid no longer functions and you will take med's for life.

I can help you with the chest cough, you may be allergic to cigarettes. I can help you clear the allergy or break the addiction with all natural mineral supplements. I don't believe hypothyroidism is related to lung/respiratory problems of any kind. I no longer have low thyroid as a result of the mineral supplements mentioned above. Each one is formulated for a specific problem. My depression I had for 5 years was cured by an aloe and mineral supplement. The supplements are inexpensive, easy to take and have no negative side effects.
email me for more info, Id love to help!

We often see hypothyroid symptoms totally reversed when commits to a plan that supports balance through nutrition and daily self-care. Learn here https://tr.im/O2eqO
Consume foods naturally high in B vitamins, such as whole grains, nuts, and seeds, and iodine (fish, seaweed, vegetables and root vegetables).
Exercise daily, at least 30–60 minutes per day, 4–5 times a week.
Practice deep breathing and other techniques that trigger the “relaxation response” – such as meditation and guided visualization.

Hyperthyroidism has to do with your thyroid and your metabalism rate and coughing is not related to your thyroid. Smoking will increase coughing though.
