So i like this guy and i have his number, but we've never talked on the phone before and I dont want it to be awkward. I mean, we're friends and everything, but I'm really nervous. What do I say?

It's completely normal to be nervous about calling a guy, hon, so don't worry about that! Don't worry about whether it's awkward or not, either....even if you two have an awkward conversation, at least you had a conversation. :)
If you're REALLY nervous and think that you might not be able to come up with anything to say, you might want to write a list beforehand of things you want to talk about. (Examples: what you did that day, classes you have in common, local sports/events, etc.) I know that sounds kind of dorky, but I used to do that when I got really nervous about calling someone, and if my mind went blank, I'd just look at my list for another conversation topic!

Here is a important question for you: Did he give you the number? If yes, then give him a call b/c he wants you to or would not have given it to you in the first place. If no, do not call him. It would be too stalker like!!! Just keep talking to him and see where it goes. Do try not to sound desperate for his attention. One thing is for sure when it comes to guys if he is typical he will want more the woman he thinks may be out of reach for him. Just be yourself and do not worry about impressing him. Nobody likes it when they sign on for one thing and get another all together!

If he gave you the phone number, then he is probably expecting you to call, just be yourself and talk about the things that you have in common. Might I suggest that you don't call really late. He could get in big trouble over that.

Call him. Ask what he's doing. Odds are he'll say, "nothing." Start with small talk, gossip about common friends/enemies, then work up to finding out if he has any plans for a friday night or whatever. Either ask him out yourself or make it painfully obvious that you want him to ask you. Remember that we guys are dim and don't pick up on hints. Blunt is best.

Well, if you're in school, you can start out asking him for hw help. Otherwise, I'm sure you'll find something to talk about [sports, restaurants, video games, etc., or whatever you normally talk about].

Think of something you guys have in common.
Call him up and just talk about that.
Eventually the conversation will happen on its own.
