Suggested by who? An American MD? I doubt it because it's not recognized as therapy, nor is Iridology.

Most MDs do not recognize any alternative form of medicine. However, some do. I have had referrals from doctors for massage therapy (massage therapist are licensed through the state medical board). I have never had anyone tell me that an MD recommended reflexology (I'm sure some do). However, that does not mean it doesn't help. Many people claim it has healing affects. I do know it is relaxing, which in itself can help some physical problems. It can't hurt to try it. It's not dangerous by any means.

Be careful so that this individual doesn't sue you. Don't try anything unless you are licensed to do so! What's the condition? Check the facts- do your homework. Is it the pinpoints or pulsepoints that are problem areas? You have to assess before you do anything! You need to realize that reflexology doesn't really treat the problem but alleviates the symptoms of something else. They are all points. I have had a client who I had to resend to a doctor because of a septic gallbladder- don't do anything alone and for pete's sake, educate yourself- don't jump to conclusions about what you think may be a problem. I have no problems teaching those who want to do reflexology, it does help a lot of people. Good luck!

Reflexologists do not diagnose or treat any specific conditions. That would make us doctors and we aren't.
We treat the whole energy system by stimulating reflex points on the feet. The only comments made should be about the reflex areas, never the organs themselves, as in "your liver reflex" not "your liver".
While points do correspond to body parts, most problems are systemic/holistic.
If you are not a doctor why would you want to "convince" someone they had a condition? That is highly unethical.

I work for a doctor and we refer to reflexologists, massage therapist, an Asian Bodywork therapist, even reiki therapists! So yes, doctors DO refer to reflexologists.

Yes, of course.

Just take care the person is qualified.
