You're a completely normal aunt, hon! I absolutely love kids and pride myself on being incredibly patient, but I have two small cousins who can drive me up the wall in about 2 seconds!
You don't like every adult you meet, so why should you be expected to like every child? And just because someone's related to you doesn't mean that you're obligated to love everything they do. Please don't feel bad at all! :)

Lots of people feel this way and when you are feeling this way just thank God that they're not your kids. LOL No need to feel guilty it's perfectly natural to not feel too kindly inclined toward obnoxious trouble making youth. The good thing is that if they continue on this path they'll probably end up in some detention facility where you can make a sad face and say to your bro in law and sis how sad it is that your niece and nephew were so misunderstood by the law. Hang in there.

I have a niece the same way. She is possessed, and I can say this without humor.
I minimize contact with her, but when we do get together and she throws a fit for no reason, or starts being a royal (insert expletive here), I get to be the concerned uncle who explains "how things are" and that she isn't in charge of the adults.
Its not easy, but I do have some GREAT stories. Don't be afraid to edge into being mean if you have to. Some kids need a little meanness to show them they are at the bottom of the totem pole, not the top.

Yes sometimes I hate my neice and nephew. Just step away for a mintue. Take a few relaxing breaths, to help you calm down. Why dont you tell your family that they are brats? I tell my sister all the time her kids are annoying. Makes me feel better. Afterall kids will be kids. Sooner or later they will grow up and be cool as hell-Just give it time. In the mean time, if you get frusterated, remember, deep cleansing breaths to keep yourself from yelling at them.

Don't feel bad. My brother's kids are sweet, but slobs! Both my brother and his wife refuse to pick up anything. So my mom and I are always picking up the house--toys, shoes, clothes, dishes. I try to teach the kids, but if the parents don't care, then it is pointless! And if you aren't used to little kids noise, then you can't be blamed for that. I thought all parents were deaf until I had my own noisemakers. You will get more comfortable with the kids with time; doesn't really mean you don't love them.

I'm not an Aunt, but I cannot stand my cousin! And my mom and I both cannot stand this mother (my Aunt, her sister). Just thought I would say that you are not as messed up as you think!

We are not a fan of my man's brother's kids. The wife has a large stick stuck up her butt and it would appear she gave both the kids one at birth.
The boy is a big sook cry baby and the girl is pretentious.
