I never thought that you could find someone like that, but it seems that more and more people are using them and suggesting I do, I don't really trust them, it seems too weird to just browse through a list like you were shopping, theres nor romance or connection, waht do you think?

Yes.
At first it feels weird but you can get to know people and their values very quickly. People will much more freely discuss the important issues (caeer, children, money) online.
Also you can do this without being distracted by their appearance.
Be discriminating about which site(s) you use, don't use anything with spam, fake ads or exorbitant fees. For example, eHarmony is way overpriced.
Ignore all the nasty comments below and their stereotypes.
It's an efficient way of meeting many diverse people you would otherwise never meet.

Sure, some people in society will frown upon it. But most people these days are time poor, we order our groceries online, so why not meet people like that. I'm self employed, work long hours, and don't feel like going to clubs where there are only 18 yr old guys around. It's a great mechanism to devise a selection pool of potentials for you. Give it a go, you've got nothing to lose!

Unfortunately, online dating leaves you open for frauds. Online, you can be anyone you want to be. Some people are honest, but others pretend to be something they are not. And online, you can't tell the difference.

Well,it's not a dating site...but I found my now fiance on Myspace. He was on one of my best girlfriend's friends list and we became friends,met...and the rest is history. I asked my friend about him before even returning his message,so it wasn't like a complete stranger type deal..but it was the internet. :)
