Because they either ruined it first by overcooking it, or they ordered or cooked a cheap piece of meat and its gamey.
I bet if the steak sauce idiots knew that raisins are the main ingredients in the sauce they might think twice.
Or maybe their mom burned everything and they dont know good food from crapola.

Good question. I like to eat the steak just as it is, but if I really like the taste of the steak sauce, I'll eat a bite or two with it included. But definitely will not ruin a whole steak with it.

Beats me. You can pour steak sauce on a vegetarian patty and it will taste the same as when you pour it on a good steak. So why bother with the steak?
On the other hand, if you enjoy the taste of a properly cooked piece of steak, why drown it out with steak sauce?

Why do they ALSO ruin a perfectly good steak by overcooking it (ie, anything past medium rare)? Maybe they got used to steak sauce when eating medium and well done steaks?

Not on a perfectly good steak. A crappy pub steak, bring on the HP. A perfectly grilled steakhouse cut, salt & pepper bit of blue cheese on the side. And a nice Cab / Sauv

When I cook steak I like to marinate it in a steak sauce before cooking it. I think it tenderizes the meat and accentuates not dulls the taste. Damn now I'm hungry.

I don't use steak sauce unless it is a realllllly bad steak. Although, my husband always eats steak sauce. He loves it! He puts steak sauce on everything - chicken, fish, potatoes, green beans, etc.! I guess to each his own.

That's not what gets me...because steak sauce CAN add flavor...
What bothers me is all the people who pile on the sauce BEFORE they taste the steak first...
