You have to wait at least 4 hours until you can choose a best answer or put it up for voting or you can delete the question.

Four hours after asking a question to can vote on one of the answers that's the best answer that people have written and that will close it out.

Go to your profile. Like where it says your id name, then it will show a list of your questions. click on the question you want. then under your questions you will see a bar of different icons, click on the last one which is a pencil, then click delete question. it will still appear on your page, but will be closed to answers.

if its past 24 hours since you asked it, go through and select a best answer. you get three points from it and the person you pick gets 10.

either delete it or wait 24hrs and choose a best answer or in your email choose stop getting email notifications for that question. See if that helps.
