While my family was travelling, we were on a stretch of road with no exits and no rest areas. Needless to say, we all had to pee by the time we found a gas station. Just our luck, there was a long line for the ladies room. It took over 10 minutes of pee dancing in line until it was finally our turn. I yanked my underwear down and sat on the toilet, pulled my daugher's pants down and sat her right in front of me so she could pee, and pulled my son's shorts down and he peed in the trash can. Gross, I know, but no wet pants.

I haven't had to do this (yet!) but I have been at home and been on the commode peeing with my 2& 1/2 yr old banging on the bathroom door and screaming, "Mommy! I Need to peeeeee!!!! Get off toilet!" . Totally cracks me up when she does that!

Next time, you sit on the toilet, daughter on the can, son pee in sink with tap running. Aim it straight young man. Or, invest in a pail with a toilet seat on it......its called port o let. just keep it in the trunk with a jug of water so you can rinse it out, and pee away at the side of the road. All you need to do if you have a four door car, is open the two doors at the side of the road and place the port o let between them. Instant bathroom, and then when you are done, just dump it at the side of the road. put any used toilet paper in a ziplock baggie and dispose of it when you come to a gas station.

If you plan to travel in the future you might want to purchase a "Travel Potty"

It will give at least the kids a rest area when there isn't one. You could use in an emergency too .. If you are traveling in a 4 door car pull to the side of the road open both doors on the side away from traffic, place the potty on the ground between them to screen activities and your potty with a view of nature is ready.... Carry a large kitchen trashbag with you to place the disposable bags in and you are ready to go...
