It's not brainwashing. It's just how they were raised.
They were taught from birth to believe that their sole purpose in this life was to give their lives to the pursuit of ridding the world of the "unworthy".
It's like when some parents teach their children from birth that blacks are inferior to whites. That idea then is forever burned in that child's brain, and that is why there really is no way to cure racism. The same goes for suicide bombers.

It is the result of brainwashing. The people that do this were probably fine before their religion filled their heads with dangerous and destructive ideas.

neither .. its a cultural condition (extremism) .. and a sick one at that ...and its NOT specific to muslims... christianity has a long, bloody and violent history
