my thoughts are with you on the loss of your little clown. You don't get over it hon, and there is no time limit on grief. I know how much it hurts and how empty the house and your heart can feel. I know that some days are better and then you'll look at her collar, or a pic, and be heart broken and sobbing all over again. My Mozart left me on June 18, 2006 and I just know that he and Lady are having a blast playing in puppy heaven... They have the advantage of not having to miss us because they can see us every day... looking down on us with impish goofy grins and waggly bums.

Its been 10 days since I lost my dog Buddy. After 12 1/2 years of loving this handsome guy our family was devistated when he became completely paralyzed and had to be put down. We still cry. I still expect to see him and sometimes I can still hear his bark. We went through all the phases of greif. My husband and I sit for long periods and talk about our greif. How much we miss him. What could we have done different. But we sure do smile when we talk about all the crazy stunts that dog could and would do. We actually started talking to a psychiatrist about our greif because it effected the family so much and we just wanted a sense of normalcy. We adopted a puppy but he died 3 days later of parvo so now we cant adopt any more dogs for at least 9 months. Right now we just try to keep as busy as possible and provide all the love we can to our surviving senior dog who is over 13 years old.

Our little pomeranian died a month ago. We had her for 13 years. It still hurts like it was yesterday. I've gotten few kind words from anyone, a lot of people are very insensitive about the death of a pet. My husband and I talk to each other about it and that helps, and maybe when we're ready we'll get another dog. I don't think we can ever get over it, just learn to deal with it the best we can. What you said reminds me of a picture of Pookie I have in a frame in our living room. I always said she looks like a happy little clown in that picture. I want you to know that I know what you're going through, and I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry about your loss. Time is the best healer and remembering all the goodness about her. i lost my 2 German Shepherds within 1 year of each other and that was 4 years ago. I still miss them and always will but it has gotten easier. When the time is right and only you will know when look into getting another pet. It will never take the place of the one lost but the joy it will bring will be tremendous help.

My little Yorkie was 15 when she passed, and though it's been a little over a year now, I still miss her. I don't think you ever really stop missing them, you just move to a place where you can remember them happily, and that's a good place. I still dream about Princess, and I sometimes get misty-eyed at the thought of her, but I'm able to look back and know that she was happy when she was here, and that I never gave up on her even when everyone around me did. You'll come to that point. It just takes time. You'll remember her with joy instead of sadness, but you won't ever stop missing her.

I'm really sorry about your pug. It's so hard to lose a pet that you love and that loves you back. It's been 5 years since I lost my cat, and it still hurts. I don't know if you can ever truly get over the loss, but eventually you will find another pet to give love to and it will help you heal a little... it did for me. How better to honor her memory than by adopting another pet and giving them a wonderful life?

I am so sorry about your little dog. It is a very hard time for you now. You will miss her for a long time, I'm sure. Try and remember the memories of happier times. Go on line and look up poems for departed dogs that went to Heaven. You could make her a memorial about her life at one of these places. Give yourself time and cry if you need to. It's a very emotional and upsetting time for you. Remember always, that if you hold a special place in your heart just for her, she will always be a part of you and never very far away. I am truly sorry.

Yeah getting over a pets death is very difficult..becoz whenever you see that empty place where ur pet used to sit your heart burns like anything...I had three rabbits...all the three died due to some disease....then we bought a female german shepherd...she had some problem in her food pipe so all the time she used to vomit whatever she used to eat...in the end she too died due to starvation...its very difficult to forget all these things..now we have a male german shepherd and I and my husband try to forget the sorrow of those pets by playing with this one...just get anoter pet so that you can forget the previous one...

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have lost pets in my time, and always keep in mind that they aren't in pain anymore, and that is comforting. So, try to keep that in mind about Lady. Try to focus more on how happy she made you, and not how sad you are that she's gone. This may help ease the pain.

I don't think you really can just like it's hard to deal with the death of a loved one (human). Remember her as she was. Tell stories to people so they can appreciate her as much as you do.
