Drink green tea! I drink several cups a day (hot and sweet!lol) and I have not been sick in a looooong time. My brother has horrible allergies, lots of phlegm and stuffiness, I got him to drink a cup of green tea in the mornings and he is all but cured! Also try to eat more garlic and onions, they're bad on your breath but great for your immune system. Gargle warm salty water (DO NOT swallow) to ease a sore throat and to clear congestion.
Hope you feel better soon!!!!

Hi,
in my daily work as a pharmacist, I get this question a lot;
First off: there is no "cure" to the common cold. You can help prevent it (sleeping well, washing your hands, ect...). But once you get a cold (caused by a virus, most often a rhinovirus type), there is NO proven cure, except rest and time.
Lots of products will claim to help fight off the infection by "boosting" your immune system. Most contain Echinacea, Vitamin C, Ginseng or other natural products. None have been actually proven to help fight off a cold (not any better than sleeping and drinking water anyways..). Some *might* help boost your immune system a bit (echinacea and ginseng), so if you're a believer, that might be an avenue for you.
The other kind of Cold Remedies are actually medecine that fight the SYMPTOMS and not the INFECTION. Always keep this in mind. Dayquil, Nyquil, Benylin, Vicks.... All of them have a different combination of the same medical ingredients: an antitussive (to help with the cough) and/or decongestant and/or expectorant and/or anthistamine (to help with the runny nose)... That's it. None of these will actually help cure the cold. They will only make it easier to live with it.

Hey man
It's true, vitamin C is good for you. You can boost up on it now through oranges and other citric fruits. Take note though, the most vitamin is in the skin of the fruit.
If you real unlucky, you may wanna try traditional healing than pump your body with chemicals. I recommend Ginger tea. It's available in satchets like instant coffee. Just add hot water, stir and drink. It's fantastic and the effects are almost immediate on your running nose.

LOADS of vitamin C - oranges, cranberry juice, etc.
4-5 cups of Green Tea a day
If your immunity is high, cold should not touch you really. So eat healthy and on time. Take care and hope you give the cold a slip. All the best!

ZICAM!!!!!!!!!!!! Take it as soon as you have the very first sign/feeling of a cold coming on! It works like no other! It's around 7 bucks in Walmart. They have a variety of things, gel nasal sprayish thing, spoon thing, and the caplets thing. You'd be so glad.
