There IS dog litter. Many people train there small dogs to it. It's good for people who can't be home all day or who don't have a yard for the dog to go in. My dog used it when he is a puppy but now he is too big for it. It is called SECONDNATURE Dog Litter. You can find it at petco or petsmart...and the dog pan also. DO NOT use cat litter - it can be toxic to dogs who would probably just eat it. The secondnature dog litter is grey and heavy little rods. It's easy to train them to. It also comes with a CD for your computer telling you how to use it. Good Luck!!

I would use puppy pads. Just because your training her to go on them, is not an excuse not to take her outside though. I think a lot of people use puppy pads as an excuse not to take the time to let their dogs out. I have a 6 year old yorkie and she goes on puppy pads during the day when im at work and a lot in the winter (She hates the snow), but she also gets let out on a regular basis.

I've heard of people using puppy pads to train their dogs, if you want your dog to use a box maybe the puppy pads would be cleaner(she wont track littler all over the house). Puppy pads have a scent to them that make a pup want to use them. Plus puppy pads are easy to clean up and are cheep!! Good luck!

Cat litter is better especially the scoopable kind it is softer on
the feet and easier to clean.

I've never tried to little train a dog, but I would imagine that little itself would be a heck of a mess. If you get the clumping kind, it can get all over their feet, stuck in their hair, etc. I would suggest Yesterday's News, it makes for easy clean-up, and doesn't clump.
