Why is the flesh of a peach near the pit seemingly stained red, unlike the rest of the peach flesh?

Does it have something to do with the composition of the pit? Some chemical reaction?

it's the part with the most vitamins. Beta keritin has that color in HIGH volumes. Radishes are a good example of high beta keritin.
