I live in california, and in most free english courses in community colleges or highschool night classes there are lots of mexicans/hispanics.. but sometimes there are a few asians too.. I don't understand, why do some asians go to pay schools if there are free classes available?

Because the pay schools are generally better.

Maybe the pay-schools are better and insulate them from all the trash that attends the free-schools. Having gone to public schools in a Major US city, I can tell you there are LOTS of undesirables there. Furthermore, Orientals are, on average, smart; given that, maybe they feel better served at a pay-school.

Maybe you have to meet certain requirements to get into the free classes.
