First off I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SP 2!
Ok the question is why exactly are there so many posts that claim SP2 is a bug, shouldn't be installed, ect.

i think it may be because on some computers it has been know to lock it them up. I actually did have this problem with one of my computers but i resolved the problem, because there was a conflict with it. so that could be the reason for the "rumer"

Maybe they have so many bugs it won't install properly,facts are if you are not running SP 2 your PC is not secure and open to all kinds of attacks.

Perhaps, because of there so many patches coming to update it.
It is help only if you often login to internet or heavy user at network application
